The leaves of the Hazel tree are known in phytotherapy for their venotonic (i.e. tonic for veins) properties.

Recommended for:	The leaves of the Common Hazel tree have hemostatic properties, supporting the body's own processes for healing wounds thanks to the tannins and allantoin they contain. Used externally, Hazel leaves infusion tones skin capillaries and stimulates dermal cellular regeneration. Also, it has bacteriostatic and anti-inflammatory properties.
Properties:	Helps strenghten the skin's capillary vessels. Supports the body's wound-healing process. Action: venotonic, vasoconstrictor (contracts smooth muscles in vessels), antihemorrhagic (stops bleeding), anti-inflammatory, wound-healing, bacteriostatic (limits bacterial growth).
Dosage and Use:	Internally: steep 1 tablespoon of leaves in 200 ml boiling water. Drink 2 infusions per day. Externally: use the infusion for compresses with local vasoconstricting and anti-inflammatory properties.
